Celebrate this Juneteenth with Atlanta history at Oakland Cemetery! They’re offering an array of events starting June 18th and running through June 30th. We Shall Overcome Walking Tour discusses the history of the African Americans who escaped slavery and shaped Atlanta. The Black Magnolias Walking Tour discusses the history, lives, and labors of Atlanta African American women. Deborah Strahorn is hosting a storytelling hour with interactive tales and music. Storytime with LaDoris Bias-Davis on June 18th features reading Atlanta, My Home, a surprise activity, and a mini-tour of the sites and symbols of Oakland Cemetery.
