Honestly, it’s one of the biggest and best Labor Day weekend Atlanta events you’ll find!

August 30-September 1 (Attractions 10:30 AM–9 PM; Laser Show 9:30 PM nightly) | Park Entry $20/vehicle; Attractions Pass $39.95+ | Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain always goes all out for Labor Day, but their drone show and fireworks finale are truly on a whole new level. I’ve seen a lot of light shows, and this one, with over 250 drones dancing in sync to music, is genuinely one of the best. You can grab an attractions pass for a full day of fun, or just post up early on Memorial Lawn with a blanket and snacks for the evening spectacle.
WRFG 30th Blues and BBQ Concert
September 1, 1–8:00 PM | Ticketed | Park Tavern, Atlanta
To truly close out summer with good music, great food, and those perfect laid-back vibes, I think the WRFG 30th Annual Labor Day Blues BBQ is your spot. You can grab some delicious BBQ, sip a cold drink, and let the blues carry you through the afternoon. It’s the ultimate end-of-summer soundtrack, if you ask me.
Movies Alfresco

This year features two blockbuster matchups: Tennessee vs. Syracuse on Saturday at noon, and South Carolina vs. Virginia Tech on Sunday at 1 PM or 3 PM. The energy is always unreal, and the stadium atmosphere makes it feel like a championship game right out of the gate!
Peach State Block Party
September 1, 3–11 PM | Free | Underground Atlanta
I’m personally thinking about catching the fireworks at the Peach State Block Party to close out summer with a spectacular bang. This free event at Underground Atlanta is Atlanta’s biggest Labor Day celebration, featuring live music, food trucks, games, and a vibrant crowd. You definitely don’t want to miss the spectacular fireworks show lighting up the Atlanta skyline at nightfall.
Labor Day “Pig Out” 2025
August 31, 5-8PM | Ticketed | Palmer Plaza at Avalon, Alpharetta
If a laid-back Labor Day feast with a side of live music sounds like your kind of party, then the Labor Day “Pig Out” at Avalon is where it’s at. The Oak and Colletta culinary teams are serving up an all-you-can-eat spread of whole hog, smoked brisket, ribs, and all the fixings. Plus, there’s live music, face painting, and balloon animals to keep the whole crew entertained.
The Second Annual Perry Street Soirée: Bloom & Brunch
August 30, 11AM-6PM | Ticketed | Perry Street, Lawrenceville
For those who want to celebrate the end of summer in serious style, I think the Perry Street Soirée: Bloom & Brunch is an absolute must. It’s the ultimate way to soak up the last days of summer with a touch of elegance, if you ask me.

August 30–31, 11 AM–8 PM | Free | Historic Fourth Ward Park (Skatepark field), Atlanta
Bring the whole crew to the Atlanta Hip Hop Day Festival, a fantastic two-day celebration of the city’s vibrant hip-hop culture. I think it’s super cool that they have live performances from ATL’s hottest artists, breakdance battles, and live graffiti art. It’s a free, all-ages community block party with plenty of room to spread a blanket and enjoy the music.
TinyCON (Children’s Museum of Atlanta)

Calling all mini superheroes and pint-sized wizards! TinyCON is a special convention just for kids at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, and honestly, it sounds adorable. Families can dress up and enjoy hands-on activities like building lightsabers, engineering jellyfishing nets, and crafting Minecraft characters. There’s even a costume parade, so I recommend grabbing tickets in advance because this one tends to sell out!

If you’re aiming for a Labor Day that perfectly blends excitement and relaxation, the Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival at Callaway Gardens is truly unforgettable. By day, you can splash around Robin Lake Beach or enjoy the Birds of Prey show. Then, as the sun dips, giant hot air balloons glow on the beach, and fireworks light up the night sky—it’s just magical!
Labor Day Weekend Paddle (George L. Smith State Park)
August 30, 5:30–7:30 PM | $40 | George L. Smith State Park

I think kicking off your Labor Day evening on the water with a Twilight Kayak Tour at Hard Labor Creek State Park sounds incredibly peaceful. This tour is suitable for active participants aged 6 and up, and registration online is required due to limited space.

If you’re looking to kick off your Labor Day weekend with a burst of energy and some scenic trail vibes, the Red Fox Run at F.D. Roosevelt State Park is an awesome idea. The course winds through beautiful trails, offering a mix of challenge and nature. Afterward, you can refuel with a slice of pizza from Fox’s Pizza Den—which, let’s be honest, sounds like the perfect reward.
Tybee Island Labor Day Beach Bash
August 29 – 31, 2025 (Main concert & fireworks on Sunday, Aug. 31) | Free | Tybee Pier & Pavilion, Tybee Island
My idea of Labor Day fun definitely involves sand between my toes, so the Tybee Island Labor Day Beach Bash sounds absolutely perfect! All weekend long you can enjoy Tybee’s beautiful beaches and local restaurants, but the real highlight is Sunday night’s free beachfront concert and spectacular fireworks show over the ocean. There’s something truly magical about watching fireworks reflect on the water, don’t you think?
Mountain Heritage Festival (Blairsville)
August 30 – 31, 10 AM–5 PM | Free | Downtown Blairsville
Escape to the North Georgia mountains for the Mountain Heritage Festival in Blairsville, a charming event that celebrates Appalachian culture. You’ll find local artisans showcasing traditional skills, handmade quilts, wood carvings, and enjoy live bluegrass and gospel music. It’s a super welcoming community block party vibe, and it’s free to attend, which I always appreciate.
Hiawassee Pro Rodeo
August 30 – 31, Gates 6 PM, Rodeo 8 PM nightly | $25 admission (kids 5 & under free) | Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Hiawassee
How about spending your Labor Day weekend at a rip-roarin’ rodeo in the Georgia mountains? I think the Hiawassee Pro Rodeo sounds like an absolute blast! You’ll see top-tier cowboys and cowgirls competing in classic events like bull riding, bronc busting, and barrel racing, all set against stunning mountain scenery. Gates open early so you can grab some BBQ and let the kids meet the rodeo clowns before the action starts.
Labor Day Weekend Sales
Local Sales & Deals in the Atlanta Area
Ponce City Market
August 29–31, 2025 (Extended Hours) | Sales vary | 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA
Spend Labor Day weekend exploring Ponce City Market, which, let’s be real, is an iconic ATL hub of boutiques, eats, and entertainment. Many retailers and restaurants are keeping extended holiday hours, so you get extra time to shop end-of-summer sales and maybe grab a bite from the food hall. It’s a relaxed, only-in-Atlanta way to cap off summer with friends and family, and I always love the skyline views.
Lenox Square
Labor Day Weekend 2025 | Up to 60% Off | 3393 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA

Whether you’re hunting for designer deals or back-to-school styles, you’ll find plenty of markdowns, and yes, it’s open on Labor Day Monday!
Atlantic Station
Labor Day Weekend 2025 | Summer Sales | 1380 Atlantic Dr NW, Atlanta, GA
I always make a day of it at Atlantic Station during Labor Day weekend, as it’s such a great open-air Midtown destination for shopping, dining, and fun. You can hunt for end-of-summer sales at popular stores, then refuel at one of the many restaurants. They often host free community entertainment, so it’s a relaxed way to blend a little retail therapy with outdoor leisure.
The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta (Woodstock)
August 15 – September 1, 2025 | Up to 70% Off | 915 Ridgewalk Pkwy, Woodstock, GA
For mega-bargains over Labor Day, I always tell people to head up I-575 to Woodstock’s Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta. Their annual sidewalk sales boast “up to 70% off” across tons of brand-name stores like Nike and Kate Spade. Pro tip: go early for the best selection, and wear comfy shoes because with over 100 stores, you’ll definitely get your steps in!
North Georgia Premium Outlets (Dawsonville)

It’s a cool, creative way to celebrate the holiday, especially when you need a break from the crowds.
Puttshack (West Midtown)
September 1, 2025 (Labor Day) | BOGO 50% Off | 1115 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA
I always say, “Putt work aside and celebrate Labor Day with some high-tech mini golf at Puttshack Atlanta!”. On Labor Day Monday, they’re offering a fun special: 50% off your second game of mini-golf until 4 p.m.. It’s an ideal daytime hangout for families or friends looking for things to do in Atlanta that aren’t just shopping, and I recommend reserving your tee time early!
BrandsMart USA (Atlanta-area & Southeast)
Labor Day Event (live now) / Through Sept 10, 2025 (select offers) | TVs, appliances, audio bundles; 0% financing promos | Atlanta-area (e.g., 5000 Motors Industrial Way, Atlanta, GA 30360)
For metro Atlanta shoppers, BrandsMart USA’s Labor Day Event is a perennial bargain hunt, and I always check it out for big-ticket items. It’s great for package pricing on kitchen refreshes and big screens before football season really kicks in. If you can swing an in-store visit, some of their bundle deals are even sweeter, in my experience.
Goodwill of North Georgia (Local)
Ongoing (2025) | Color-of-the-Week 50% off; 99-cent Mondays; member-exclusive specials | Local
Thrifting is definitely my cardio, and Goodwill of North Georgia makes it a sport! Their weekly color tags drop 50% after four weeks, then hit 99¢ on Monday, which is just awesome. Special-day deals are members-only starting July 19, 2025, so it’s a perfect LDW activity between cookouts.
Guitar Center (Atlanta)
August 28–September 4, 2025 | Labor Day Sale up to 50% off (select) | 2480 Briarcliff Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30329

JCPenney (Atlanta)
Late August–Labor Day / August 27–September 1, 2025 | Up to 50% off home + extra 30% off with coupon; extra 25% off sitewide with coupon (select) | JCPenney locations
JCPenney’s Labor Day Home Sale with coupon stackers makes it incredibly easy to refresh bedding, bath, and décor on a budget. I think these are ideal Labor Day shopping deals, especially if you’re furnishing an Atlanta apartment or getting ready for dorm move-ins. They typically have up to 50% off home items, plus extra savings with coupons.
National Chain Deals
Amazon
August 2025 | Up to 40% Off | Online Retailer
Amazon’s Labor Day sale is usually in full swing, offering broad discounts on thousands of items across tech, home, and fashion. I always find that shoppers can snag everything from electronics to summer apparel at steep markdowns, with many deals rivaling Prime Day lows. It’s a one-stop shop to save big before fall arrives, with fresh discounts dropping throughout Labor Day weekend.
Best Buy
August 2025 | Up to 50% Off | Electronics & Appliances
Best Buy is rolling out its Labor Day appliance sale with massive savings, and honestly, you can score up to 50% off top-rated refrigerators, washers, and dryers. On top of that, I always find big deals on TVs, laptops, and headphones as the holiday weekend approaches. It’s truly the perfect time to upgrade your home electronics or kitchen appliances while these limited-time discounts last.
Target
August 2025 (online furniture sale ends 9/1) | Up to 60% Off | Big-Box Retailer
Target is definitely joining the Labor Day fun with plenty of summer clearance and home deals. I always look for up to 60% off indoor furniture online, plus discounts on kitchen appliances and back-to-school essentials. Pro tip: stack your 5% Target RedCard savings for even more, it’s an easy way to snag deals on everyday needs!
Walmart
Late August 2025 / Now through Labor Day | Rollback Deals / Labor Day Home Savings | Retail Superstore (Online & in-store)
Walmart’s Labor Day specials mean deep “rollback” pricing on a huge assortment of goods, and I always keep their Labor Day page open to watch for deals. You’ll find everything from kitchen essentials to big-ticket electronics, and it’s a great time to upgrade your TV for football season. Prices move fast here, so I recommend keeping that tab open and refreshing while you sip your coffee!
Macy’s
August 28 – September 1, 2025 | Extra 20% Off; Lowest prices of the season on furniture and mattresses | Department Store
Macy’s epic five-day Labor Day sale is back, combining summer clearance with bonus savings, and I always mark it on my calendar. During the event, most sale and clearance items get an extra 20% off with a promo code (last year was “LABOR”). This is truly Macy’s last call for summer inventory and the lowest prices of the season on furniture and mattresses, so it’s a can’t-miss chance to refresh your wardrobe or home décor for less.
The Home Depot
August 21 – September 3, 2025 / August 22 – September 2, 2025 | Up to 35% Off (appliances, garden supplies, tools) | Home Improvement (Online & in-store)
Atlanta DIY-ers, get excited—The Home Depot’s Labor Day savings event spans everything from appliances to garden supplies, and I’m always eyeing it for big-ticket buys. The sale officially runs right through the long weekend, with up to 35% off select major appliances. If you’ve been waiting on a new washer or a cordless mower, this is definitely your “do it” nudge!
Lowe’s
August 2025 / Late August–early September 2025 (seasonal ad) | Up to 35% Off (appliances, gardening, paint, outdoor) / Weekly specials | Home Improvement (Online & in-store)
Lowe’s is celebrating Labor Day with nationwide sales to rival its orange competitor, and I always hop between them and Home Depot to compare appliance bundles. Look for up to 35% off select appliances like refrigerators, washers, and dryers. Pro tip: stack store credit-card promos for an extra edge if you’re remodeling, it’s a smart move!
Sam’s Club
August 21 – September 10, 2025 | Labor Day Savings event (appliances, TVs, grills & more) | Warehouse club
If you love a bundle, Sam’s Club goes long with their Labor Day Savings event, running even past Labor Day itself. I’m seeing aggressive savings on major appliances and big screens, all with their usual curbside convenience. It’s definitely worth a scan, even if you’re typically “team Costco,” because who doesn’t love a good deal?
Costco
August 25 – September 21, 2025 | Monthly online offers overlapping Labor Day (mattresses, small appliances, everyday bulk wins) | Warehouse club
Costco’s monthly offers conveniently span the holiday window, which is nice for mattresses, small appliances, and all those everyday bulk wins I always seem to need. I like setting price alerts, then doing a same-day warehouse pickup if it’s a hot-moving item—it’s super efficient.
Tempur-Pedic
Now – September 9, 2025 (varies by model) | Labor Day Event: mattress savings + free accessories | Mattresses (Brand-direct)
If your sleep could seriously use a refresh, then this Tempur-Pedic Labor Day Event is definitely the brand-direct window to check out. Their official sale includes real dollar-off promos, and sometimes even bonus adjustable bases or accessories, which is a great perk. I’d lock it in before the September 9 cutoff, because good sleep is priceless.
Kay Jewelers
August 21 – September 1, 2025 | Up to 40% off almost everything; up to 50% off limited-time deals | Jewelry
I’m a total sucker for sparkling math, so Kay’s 2025 Labor Day sale is always on my radar. They have plainly labeled, wide-category markdowns on gold, diamond fashion, and even engagement pieces during the long weekend. It’s a fantastic time to upgrade everyday pieces without waiting until January, if you ask me.
Madewell
Labor Day Event (live now) | Extra 40% off sale (code LONGWEEKEND) | Apparel & denim
Madewell’s LDW door is already open, and I am here for it! I’m personally stacking that extra 40% off sale with my wishlist staples, like the Perfect Vintage Jeans, and calling it back-to-office chic on a budget. Just use code LONGWEEKEND to snag those savings.
American Eagle
Now through Labor Day | “Everything on sale” 35%+; 50–70% off clearance (jeans from $24.99) | Apparel
AE’s site loudly proclaims “everything on sale,” which is basically my permission slip to refresh my denim before fall! Clearance is even spicier, with 50–70% off and jeans starting from just $24.99. It’s an easy win if you’re dressing teens or doing campus runs, and who doesn’t love a good denim deal?
Guitar Center
“This week” of Labor Day | Labor Day deals across guitars, drums, keys & pro audio | Musical instruments & audio
Whether you’re starting a home studio or just upgrading your strings, Guitar Center’s Labor Day hub is live, and I always check their deals. I like to filter by “Open Box” to squeeze a few extra dollars out of my budget, which is a neat little pro tip for any musician. They have deals across guitars, drums, keys, and pro audio.
JCPenney
August 27 – September 1, 2025 | Labor Day Sale (apparel, home, jewelry & more) | Department store
This is a classic Penney’s playbook: lots of stackable promos and doorbusters during the exact Labor Day weekend dates. I always toss the app on my phone for extra coupon overlays at checkout—it’s very much a “why yes, I do like paying less” kind of experience. Their Labor Day sale covers apparel, home goods, jewelry, and more.
ZARA
Ongoing | “Special Prices” sale section (rotating markdowns) | Fashion
ZARA doesn’t always explicitly say “Labor Day,” but their Special Prices page is a constant rolling treasure chest, and I treat it like a sample sale. I always recommend checking early, checking often, and pouncing fast because those deals disappear quick.
H&M
Ongoing | Sale section + 10% off first order with membership | Fashion
When I want trend pieces that won’t completely torch my budget, I immediately scroll H&M’s sale section and snag that new-member extra 10% off. It’s great for last-minute LDW outfit tweaks or just refreshing your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
Eddie Bauer
Ongoing summer/clearance promos | Sale + clearance (member perks & periodic extra % off) | Outdoor apparel & gear
I’m all about trail-to-travel basics, and Eddie Bauer’s sale and clearance sections are always active. Rewards members can stack perks like free shipping, which is really nice when you’re grabbing a jacket and a new weekender bag, or other outdoor gear.
ASOS
Ongoing | Outlet up to 70% off + large sale sections | Fashion marketplace/brands
ASOS is my go-to for speed-running outfits when the group text suddenly says “cookout at 6!”. Their outlet hits up to 70% off, and the main sale tabs are absolutely stacked, so I just filter by size and let the cart do its thing.
Mango
Summer Sales extend through July–August 2025 | Seasonal markdowns (women/men/kids/home) | Fashion
Mango’s summer sale conveniently runs right into Labor Day weekend territory, and their edits are heavy on transitional pieces, which I love. I’m personally thinking “linen-now, layers-later” energy when I browse their seasonal markdowns for women, men, kids, and home.
Urban Outfitters
Ongoing | Current promotions + sale section | Fashion & home
UO’s sale tab is always a fast scroll of graphic tees, their BDG denim, and surprisingly good apartment finds, if you’re looking to spruce up your space. I always recommend signing up for their email list to catch current promotions and stay on top of those sweet deals.
Well, I really hope this roundup helps you find the perfect way to enjoy the long Labor Day Weekend. Personally, I’m thinking about catching the fireworks at the Peach State Block Party, then maybe squeezing in some paddle time at George L. Smith State Park. Wherever you end up, stay safe, stay hydrated, and save me a bite of BBQ!
